You’ve done your part. Now reap the benefits!
The Rail Passengers Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your membership dues are fully tax-deductible as a charitable contribution with one exception: the only goods or services potentially provided in exchange for this generous gift were Amtrak Guest Rewards points, which for tax purposes are valued at 2.5 cents per point. Be sure to deduct the value of any points received from us (not from Amtrak) from your membership dues at tax time.

Golden spikes were once used by railroads to mark the completion of important rail projects, so I am truly grateful to receive the Golden Spike Award as a way to mark the end of a career that I’ve spent fighting to invest in our country’s rail system.
